Kafayat Adeyemi, wife of popular Nigerian Fuji musician Shanko Rasheed, has opened up about the severe domestic abuse she has endured throughout her marriage, alleging a pattern of physical assault and psychological manipulation that began after the birth of their son.
Speaking in an interview on the Talk to B podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, Adeyemi detailed a harrowing incident that recently occurred in their home.
She explained that her young son came to show her injuries on his body after his father had beaten him.
Distressed by what she saw, she approached her husband to question why he would strike such a young child.
As she confronted him, she began to cry, but instead of any remorse, her husband responded by beating her as well.
Adeyemi revealed that this was not an isolated event but part of a long-standing pattern of abuse.
She stated that ever since she gave birth to their son, her husband has regularly subjected her to physical beatings.
Compounding the physical violence, she disclosed that he also subjects her to relentless verbal and emotional abuse.
According to her account, he repeatedly tells her that no other man would ever want to marry her because she now has a child, accusing her of being interested in other men.
Her words: “When my son showed me his body after my husband beat him, I went to my husband to complain, asking why he would beat such a young boy like that. Then I started crying. While I was crying, he beat me. This is not the first time he has beaten me.
