Media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has shared how his family background shaped his views on relationships, leadership, and masculinity.
Speaking during an interview on TVC, Jideonwo reflected on his childhood and the unique structure of his home. According to him, his father showed deep respect for his mother, who played a leading role in the family. “My father respected my mother very much, she was the head of the family,” he said.
He explained that his father trusted his mother with key responsibilities, including managing the family’s finances and making important decisions. This, he noted, created a balanced and stable home where mutual respect was evident.
Jideonwo added that growing up in such an environment influenced how he understands gender roles today. He said he did not feel pressured to conform to the common belief that men must always hide their emotions.
According to him, many young men are taught to suppress their feelings in the name of being strong, but his upbringing showed him a different path. He emphasized the importance of emotional openness and honesty in building healthy relationships.
He noted that true strength is not about control or dominance, but about understanding, respect, and communication between partners.
