Veteran journalist and former Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Times and Nigerian Tribune, Tola Adeniyi, has spoken about the influence and spiritual strength he believes women possess.
Speaking during an interview on Edmond Obilo’s podcast, Adeniyi said many people do not fully understand how powerful women can be. According to him, a man may suffer serious consequences if a deeply hurt woman curses him while in tears.
He also shared a story about a former Nigerian head of state whose strength and protection, he claimed, came from his wife. Adeniyi said the leader was allegedly told that no harm would come to him as long as his wife remained alive.
Without mentioning the former leader’s name, Adeniyi explained that the man survived several plots against him during his time in power and was considered untouchable. However, he claimed that things changed completely after the woman died, adding that the leader’s life reportedly became difficult afterwards.
The veteran journalist said the former ruler was extremely powerful while his wife was alive and appeared protected from enemies and political attacks.
Adeniyi’s comments have since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians debating his views about spiritual power, marriage, and the influence women can have in the lives of men and leaders.
