Chief Tola Adeniyi, former Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Times and Nigerian Tribune, has shared the unusual story of how he met and married his wife.
Speaking during an interview on Edmond Obilo’s podcast, Adeniyi said he was once told that the woman who would become his wife would come to his house and that he would not need to search for her.
According to him, the incident happened while he was travelling to Abeokuta in a borrowed vehicle that belonged to one of his girlfriends. On the way, he stopped to buy bananas when a friend recognised him and told him that he was about to go to his house. He then returned home instead of continuing the journey.
At the time, some neighbours were holding a birthday party near his house after he allowed them to use his refrigerator. It was there that he noticed a young woman sitting quietly and decided to speak with her because her face looked familiar.
The conversation between them continued, and the woman explained that one of her tenants persuaded her to attend the party. Adeniyi later offered to take her and others home.
When they arrived, he asked to meet her mother. He went upstairs, greeted her respectfully, and told her he intended to marry her daughter on December 2.
He said that discussions between the two families continued from there, and they eventually got married on the date he mentioned.
In his words, “I was told that the woman who will be my wife that I wouldn’t have to look for her, that she will come to my house and become my wife.”……..See More
