U.S. Soldier Threatened To Walk Into A Synagogue With My Ak’ And Kill Every Single Jew, DOJ Says

According to a report by NBC News on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, a soldier stationed at Fort Polk Army base in Louisiana was arrested after he threatened to walk into a synagogue and “kill every single Jew,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana announced Monday.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana announced that 22-year-old Jakob Marcoulier was taken into custody last week. He faces a charge of transmitting threats in interstate commerce following alleged statements made on the messaging platform Discord.

According to court documents, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched an investigation after its National Threat Operations Center received a tip in February about a user issuing threats targeting synagogues. The individual, identified online as “el.bostino,” was later linked to Marcoulier.

Authorities said audio recordings obtained during the investigation captured the suspect making explicit threats of violence. In the recordings, the individual allegedly spoke about carrying out an attack after deployment and made statements expressing intent to harm Jewish individuals inside a place of worship. Investigators also said the suspect indicated a desire to gain notoriety and made extremist remarks referencing ideological motives.

Officials emphasized the seriousness of such threats, noting their potential impact on public safety and religious freedom. Zachary A. Keller, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, described threats against synagogues and Jewish Americans as an attack on the constitutional rights of all citizens.

“This case demonstrates the FBI’s vigilance and swift response in identifying and addressing individuals who make such threats,” Keller said, adding that his office intends to pursue the case through the judicial process.
