Umar Sani, former Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to ex-Vice President Namadi Sambo, has recalled an encounter involving former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview with Symfoni, Sani said he does not believe Tinubu recruited Obasanjo to cause chaos. He recalled that during a visit to Obasanjo, someone asked the former president for a favour to speak to Tinubu on their behalf.
According to Sani, the person later returned and told them that Obasanjo had declined to intervene because he believed the Tinubu administration did not like him.
In Umar Sani’s words: “I don’t believe Tinubu recruited Obasanjo to cause chaos. I don’t believe it because, I remember there was a time we went to visit Obasanjo and somebody asked him for a favour to be able to talk to Tinubu and the person came back to tell us that Obasanjo said, ‘You know this government don’t like me, so I can’t talk to them.”””
