In a recent video on YouTube, Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has renewed criticism of governance in Nigeria, raising concerns about corruption, security, and decision-making at the highest levels of leadership.
In a recent address, Ayodele questioned the government’s anti-corruption efforts and response to violence. “The government is not fighting corruption as expected,” he said, arguing that stronger action is needed to tackle systemic issues. He also pointed to ongoing insecurity, adding, “They are not addressing killings, especially of Christians… this is the truth,” reflecting concerns shared by some observers about persistent violence in parts of the country.
Beyond security and corruption, Ayodele emphasized the role of advisers in shaping leadership decisions. “Advisers must inform the president properly,” he said, warning that poor counsel could lead to instability. He cautioned that tensions within government could escalate, noting, “There is a possibility of internal conflict within leadership… there should be peace.”
