We Invoke The Spirits Of Our Ancestors To Release The Captives Within Seven Days -Fashola-MacGregor

Following the mass abduction of 32 schoolchildren and teachers from Ahoro-Esinle and Yawota in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, traditionalists from across Egbaland have declared that scores of women traditional worshippers would unleash severe spiritual retributions against the armed syndicates holding innocent citizens unless all hostages are released unharmed within one week.

According to a report by Vanguard News on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the traditionalists, through the leader of the procession, Dr. Omolara Fashola-MacGregor (the Yeye Olokun Agbaye and Olori of Orile-Ilawo Kingdom), launched a massive spiritual procession across major shrines and sacred sites in Abeokuta, Ogun State, insisting that the ancestral deities and protective spirits of Yorubaland have been formally invoked to forcefully intervene in the worsening security crisis and facilitate the immediate liberation of the victims.

Dr. Fashola-MacGregor also detailed the core allegations and the spiritual path of the exercise, describing the current state of national insecurity as an intolerable tragedy.

She also claimed that when formal security mechanisms are pushed to their limits, traditional institutions must deploy their ancestral inheritance to enforce justice, insisting that the women successfully performed specialized rituals at the historic Olumo Rock, the Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala grove, and the shrine of the legendary Egba warrior, Sodeke, before sealing the spiritual decree at the Itoku shrine located at Orita Aje Junction.

Fashola-MacGregor further noted that while state forces are struggling with terrain limitations, formal authorities routinely fail to integrate local spiritual and hunting institutions into national defense frameworks, creating a critical vulnerability that allows sophisticated kidnappers to exploit the region’s forests.

She also asserted the finality of the spiritual decree, stating: “We are here to appeal to the deities of our forefathers and the spirits of our heroes to intervene in this troubling situation. Our prayers are focused on the safe return of those who have been abducted. Our ancestors protected these lands and stood firmly for justice; we believe that when people unite in faith, sincerity and purpose, divine intervention is inevitable, and those who cause pain, fear and uncertainty to our families will face the wrath of the land.”
