2027: Peter Obi Must Be On The Ballot Because Nigerians Want Him As President -Laz Eze

In a recent interview on The Volume Pod, on Friday, June 6, 2026, public health physician, policy advocate, and Obidient supporter Dr. Laz Eze spoke about the political prospects of Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The discussion centered on opposition politics, leadership qualities, and the growing expectations of Nigerians as preparations for the next electoral cycle gather momentum.

Eze argued that many Nigerians are looking beyond political parties and focusing more on the character, competence, and track record of individuals seeking public office. He maintained that voters are increasingly interested in leaders who can address the country’s economic, security, and governance challenges.

Speaking during the interview, Eze stated, “Peter Obi must be on the ballot because Nigerians want him as President.” He made the remark while explaining why he believes Obi remains a significant political figure and a preferred choice for many citizens across different parts of the country.

According to Eze, Obi’s appeal stems from his record in public office and his reputation for prudent management of resources. He noted that many supporters view the former Anambra State governor as a leader capable of delivering reforms that could improve living standards and strengthen public institutions.

The policy advocate further observed that political parties in Nigeria often serve as vehicles for electoral participation rather than platforms defined by strong ideological differences. As a result, he argued that Nigerians tend to evaluate candidates based on their personal qualities, leadership style, and previous performance in government.

He concluded that the 2027 election will provide Nigerians with another opportunity to assess competing visions for the country’s future. Eze expressed confidence that voters would ultimately support candidates they believe possess the competence, credibility, and commitment needed to move Nigeria forward.
