In Abuja, Teachers Are At Home While Nyesom Wike Focuses On Bridges And Roads -Isaac Fayose Reveals

In a recent video shared on Symfoni TV, Isaac Fayose, younger brother to former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, criticized governance priorities in Nigeria, particularly the allocation of public resources between infrastructure projects and essential social services.

During the interview, Fayose stated, “In Abuja, teachers are at home while Nyesom Wike focuses on bridges and roads.” He made the remark while discussing public sector funding, education challenges, and what he described as uneven development priorities in the Federal Capital Territory.

He argued that while infrastructure projects such as roads and bridges are important, equal attention should be given to critical sectors like education, warning that prolonged neglect of teachers and schools could have long-term consequences for national development.

Fayose pointed out that disruptions in the education system, including reports of teachers being out of work, reflect deeper structural issues that require urgent government intervention beyond capital projects alone.

He further stressed that governance should be balanced in a way that ensures both physical infrastructure and human capital development are adequately funded, adding that one should not be prioritized at the expense of the other.

He also suggested that public officials must be more responsive to the everyday realities faced by citizens, especially in sectors such as education, healthcare, and social welfare, which directly impact the population.

The political commentator maintained that sustainable national development depends on investing in both infrastructure and people, warning that neglecting either could undermine long-term progress.

Fayose concluded by urging policymakers to reassess their priorities and ensure that governance outcomes reflect the immediate needs of citizens, particularly in critical sectors like education that shape the country’s future workforce…….See More
