According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State have issued a warning to a gubernatorial aspirant, Senator Ahmed Wadada, over concerns about his conduct within the party.
The caution was directed at his alleged actions toward other contenders ahead of the party’s internal processes.
The warning was contained in a statement jointly signed by Zamani Daniel and Ibrahim Tukur, who spoke on behalf of concerned party stakeholders.
They expressed dissatisfaction with what they described as attempts to create an atmosphere of intimidation among aspirants.
According to the statement, the party chieftains accused Wadada of relying on claims of strong backing from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to assert dominance over others seeking the same ticket.
They indicated that such claims were being used to pressure and unsettle fellow members of the party.
The statement stressed that internal party competition should remain fair and open, without undue influence or perceived endorsement from higher authorities.
The leaders noted that the APC operates on democratic principles that allow all qualified aspirants to compete without fear or coercion.
They further maintained that any attempt to project inevitability based on alleged presidential support does not align with the party’s values.
The chieftains warned that such an approach could undermine unity and create unnecessary tension within the state chapter.
In addition, they argued that political success within the party would depend on broader acceptance among members rather than perceived proximity to national leadership.
They emphasized that popularity and grassroots support remain key factors in determining electoral outcomes within the APC structure.
He said, “We know Mr. President to be a true democrat and a believer in upholding the wishes of the majority. This is why we are bothered and surprised that Wadada is boasting that Mr. President will hand-pick him ahead of more entrenched and popular aspirants.”……See More
