Once I Believe In Something, Don’t Just Mess With Me, Don’t Get Amen Angry, Because Is My Right -Arise

According to a report by The Nation Thursday, April 23, 2026, Senator Ayodele Arise, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, has restated his intention to return to the Nigerian Senate in 2027.

He made the remarks during an interview with Chief Correspondent Sanni Onogu in Abuja, where he discussed his political plans and the conditions shaping his ambition for the coming election cycle.

He was asked whether he considered his political environment in Ekiti State a difficult challenge, particularly in relation to his senatorial district and the wider contest for elective positions.

The question focused on how the dynamics within his state could influence his chances and the broader political competition ahead of the next election cycle.

In response, he pointed to what he described as a highly competitive and difficult political space, where entrenched interests already shape outcomes.

He suggested that certain areas have already been dominated for extended periods, limiting opportunities for change or political realignment.

He maintained that these political realities in the district make it difficult for new shifts in representation to occur under current conditions.

He also referenced the structure of representation in his senatorial district, noting that it is divided into two federal constituencies.

According to him, one of the constituencies has remained under the same representation for a very long period, extending across multiple electoral cycles, which he believes has significantly shaped the political balance and expectations within the area.

He further argued that the length of time a constituency has been represented by a single individual or group reflects a broader issue within the political arrangement.

He implied that this long-standing continuity affects expectations among constituents and influences how political actors position themselves ahead of future elections in the state, particularly in terms of competition and representation.

He emphasized that his political stance is tied to his personal conviction and commitment to his beliefs.

He maintained that his decision to pursue a return to the Senate is rooted in what he considers his right and his interpretation of the political situation in his constituency and state.

He said, It’s only in this case they have a very bad market. That is why there is nothing they can do. Like I told people, once I believe in something, don’t just mess with me, don’t get me angry, because it is my right. We have two federal constituencies in my senatorial district. This constituency that this guy ( Senator Cyril Fasuyi) represents by the end of his tenure in May next year, they would have spent 24 years.”……See More
