Ali Ndume expressed concern about the welfare of Nigerian soldiers during an interview on Arise News. He spoke about the conditions under which many soldiers operate and highlighted the challenges they face while carrying out security duties.
During the interview, he explained that the situation has become worrying because the motivation of soldiers appears to be weakening. According to him, those responsible for leadership and decision making may not fully recognize the efforts and sacrifices made by soldiers serving on the front lines.
Ndume also referred to the financial allowances given to soldiers. He noted that their earnings and feeding support remain very limited, describing figures that reflect the economic difficulties soldiers face while carrying out their responsibilities.
In his words, “I’m so worried these days that even the morale of our soldiers have started waning and that is because we that are wearing the shoe do not appreciate what our soldiers out there are doing. Up till now a soldier, an army is not receiving up to $80 and his feeding allowance is 3,000 which is 50 cents.”…..See More
