Obi Brought At Least 7 Senators And 16 Reps Members To ADC, Atiku Couldn’t Bring His Governor -Ojo

Public affairs analyst Jide Ojo has stated that Peter Obi played a major role in strengthening the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before leaving the party for the National Democratic Coalition.

Speaking during an interview on Silverbird TV, Ojo explained that Obi’s influence in the ADC was significant due to the number of high-ranking politicians who followed him into the party. According to him, several lawmakers, including about seven senators and fourteen members of the House of Representatives, defected alongside Obi, boosting the party’s visibility and internal structure.

He compared this with the contributions of other key political figures such as Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Ojo noted that neither of them attracted a similar number of top political officeholders into the ADC. He further pointed out that Atiku was unable to bring his state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, into the party, which he argued reflects a difference in political influence.

Ojo added that Obi’s entry into the ADC drew more elite politicians and gave the party stronger momentum at the time. However, he also expressed concerns about the party’s future, particularly following Obi’s departure.

With key political figures shifting across parties ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ojo questioned whether the ADC would maintain its strength or gradually lose relevance in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

In his words: “Peter Obi brought the most serving elected public officials into the ADC. He brought at least about seven senators and sixteen members of the House of Representatives who defected with him. How many people defected with Atiku? Atiku could not even bring his own governor, Fintiri, to join the ADC.”……See More
