Ovie Success Ossai, the Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Media, has stated that former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will not be loyal or submissive to Peter Obi within their newly formed political alliance.
In a Facebook post shared on Monday, May 4, 2026, Ossai argued that the partnership under the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) is destined for significant internal friction.
He described Kwankwaso as a figure who is stronger, more uncontrolled, and too exposed compared to the former Anambra State Governor.
According to Ossai, Kwankwaso’s history of political independence and perceived ego suggests he will never accept a subordinate role, characterizing him as a leader who is primarily driven by personal interest and a desire to remain in total control.
He wrote, “Peter Obi will have problems with Kwankwaso As Running Mate Under NDC. Kwankwaso is stronger , uncontrolled and too exposed than Peter Obi. Kwankwaso will never be loyal, submissive, or controlled by Peter Obi because he is known for being selfish and showing off his ego.”
The governor’s aide further highlighted that during their formal defection to the NDC yesterday, Kwankwaso displayed behavioral traits that shows his inability to follow another’s lead.
Ossai claimed that Kwankwaso’s eagerness to dominate every aspect of the political process proves he is ill-suited for a vice-presidential role.
He suggested that Kwankwaso’s long-standing grip on the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) was maintained specifically as leverage until this defection was finalized.
These comments come as Obi and Kwankwaso officially move to the NDC to pursue a joint ticket for the 2027 presidential election, leaving the crisis-ridden African Democratic Congress behind.
While the OK Movement aims to unite the North and South, critics like Ossai believe that the desperate desire of both men to lead will ultimately make a harmonious working relationship impossible to achieve…….See More
