If US Starts Another War, They Should Expect That We Will Take A Large Number Of Them Prisoner -Iran

According to Vanguard, Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Thursday criticized the United States’ decision to enforce a naval blockade on Iranian ports, warning that such a move would only worsen instability in the Gulf region and ultimately fail to achieve its intended goals.

In an official statement, Pezeshkian stressed that the action violates established global norms, declaring, “Any attempt to impose a maritime blockade or restrictions is contrary to international law… and is doomed to fail.”

He argued that rather than improving security, the blockade would have the opposite effect, escalating tensions and undermining long-term peace in the region.

According to him, such actions would “not only fail to enhance regional security, but are in fact a source of tension and a disruption to lasting stability in the Persian Gulf”.

The United States introduced the blockade on April 13, shortly after a ceasefire brought a temporary halt to hostilities between both countries.

Despite the pause in open conflict, tensions remain high, with Iran taking significant countermeasures.

Its military has continued to close off the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global shipping route for oil and gas exports, amplifying concerns in international energy markets.

Iran has also issued fresh warnings in response to the blockade. Military officials have indicated that continued pressure from Washington could provoke retaliation.

On Wednesday, Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander-in-chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and now a military adviser appointed by Mojtaba Khamenei, reiterated Tehran’s stance during a televised appearance.

Rezaei made it clear that Iran would not accept ongoing restrictions on its maritime access, stating, “We will not tolerate the naval blockade. If it continues, Iran will respond.”

He further escalated his rhetoric by warning of potential consequences should tensions spiral into renewed conflict.

“If the US starts another war, it should expect that we take a large number of them prisoner,” he added.
