Former banker, Mr Johnson Adeniji, has recounted his early family background, describing how he was raised in a respected warrior family from the Owu Kingdom in Abeokuta.
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH on Sunday, May 24, 2026, Adeniji explained that his father was an educated man from Akiode who later moved to Abalabi after famine disrupted farming activities, which was the major occupation of the people at the time. He noted that the relocation was necessary for survival during the difficult period.
Adeniji also praised his mother for her hard work and dedication to the family. According to him, she was a successful trader who owned a large market space in Ojo and carried out business activities in Badagry and Ikorodu.
