Comedian Afamefuna Igwemba, popularly known as Klint Da Drunk, has clarified that his onstage persona is a crafted performance and not a reflection of his private life.
In an interview with PUNCH, Igwemba explained that the character is a vehicle for social observation and satire, designed to expose truths through humour by amplifying the boldness people sometimes display when intoxicated.
He disclosed that he does not drink alcohol because he discovered he is allergic to it and would become ill for days after attempting to drink. Igwemba also acknowledged a past struggle with smoking, which he said he has since overcome.
The comedian described the persona as a tool that allows him to highlight social behaviours and deliver commentary in a comedic, accessible way.
