According to report by Vanguard on Monday, July 13, 2026, African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has pledged to support controversial disc jockey and TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following his arraignment over alleged threats made against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

In a post shared on his X account on Monday, Sowore said he was willing to assist the social media personality by providing legal advocacy and challenging what he described as excessive charges brought against him by the Nigeria Police.

He appealed to anyone with contact information for DJ Chicken’s family or relatives to reach out so he could offer support.According to Sowore, DJ Chicken should not be imprisoned over the allegations, stressing that every Nigerian is entitled to liberty under the law.

The charges include alleged threat to kill, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, and offences under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

The case followed a viral video in which the TikTok personality, while speaking in Yoruba about the 2027 presidential election, allegedly threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu if President Bola Tinubu secured another term in office.

After the video attracted widespread criticism, DJ Chicken released another clip in which he withdrew the statement, explaining that it was merely a joke intended to attract attention. He maintained that he had no intention of harming the President’s son.

The entertainer pleaded not guilty to all charges. Magistrate M.F. Onamusi granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like amount but ordered his remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre until the bail conditions are met.
