Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has sent fresh food supplies and essential household items to the military base in Oriire Local Government Area to support security personnel carrying out operations in the area.
The development was revealed during coverage aired on TVC News, on Sunday, 12 July, 2026, which reported that the governor approved the delivery of the items as part of efforts to improve the welfare of troops deployed to combat criminal activities and maintain security in Oriire following recent operations in the area.
The items delivered to the military base include fresh food supplies, cooking gas, foam mattresses, buckets, plates, and other essential commodities. The intervention is intended to provide additional support for the officers and soldiers stationed at the base as they continue their security operations.
The gesture comes in the wake of the successful rescue of the abducted students, teachers, and principal of Community High School, Esiele, an operation in which security personnel played a key role.
