Abayomi Arabambi, a member of the Labour Party National Working Committee aligned with the Julius Abure faction, has called for legal action against former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi over comments he said were capable of promoting public distrust toward President Bola Tinubu.
In a video shared by TV Platinum, Arabambi argued that Obi should be made to defend his remarks in court, maintaining that anyone who believes an offence has been committed under the law should be subjected to the appropriate legal process without exception.
“Peter Obi should be charged to court so that he can go and spend two years in prison for hatred against the President. You said the President wants to kill you and that you don’t know whether you’ll be alive. Is that not inciting or making people hate the President? Why would the President want to kill this man? Under Sections 41 to 642 of the Penal Code, when you commit an offence, you have to go and answer for it.”
Arabambi maintained that public figures should exercise caution in their statements because of their influence on supporters, adding that political disagreements should be addressed through lawful means while encouraging respect for the rule of law and established judicial processes in resolving disputes……See More
