Every Kidnapping And Abduction That Takes Place In Any State, Hold Governor Responsible -Bwala

Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications (State House) and official spokesperson for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Daniel Bwala has called for state governors to be held accountable for kidnappings and abductions occurring within their states, arguing that they should bear responsibility for security failures at the subnational level.

Speaking during an interview on The Morayo Afolabi-Brown Show, on Wednesday, 8 July, 2026, while reacting to the abduction of students from a school in Oyo State and other kidnapping incidents across the country, Bwala said governors should no longer be absolved of responsibility whenever such attacks occur.

Emphasising his position, Bwala said: “Every kidnapping and abduction that takes place in any state of Nigeria, hold that governor responsible.”

According to the APC chieftain, governors have significant constitutional and administrative responsibilities within their states and should be accountable for the security situation in their respective jurisdictions. He argued that although security agencies are under the control of the Federal Government, governors play critical roles in coordinating intelligence, supporting security operations, and ensuring the protection of lives and property.

Bwala maintained that citizens should demand greater accountability from state governments whenever incidents of kidnapping or abduction occur.
