“When I Was Pregnant I Drank Poison After I Found Out My Friend Was Pregnant For My Husband” -Ajibola

Yoruba Nollywood actress Victoria Ajibola has shared a deeply emotional account of betrayal, heartbreak, and survival, revealing how a painful discovery during her pregnancy pushed her into a moment of extreme emotional distress.

Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Ajibola recounted how she was five months pregnant when she learned that her close friend was also pregnant for her husband. The actress described the experience as one of the most devastating moments of her life, explaining that the revelation shook the very foundation of her marriage and her trust in both her husband and her friend.

According to Ajibola, the situation became even more complicated due to her strong religious beliefs and the expectations placed on her within the family. She explained that accepting a polygamous arrangement was not something she could reconcile with her Christian faith, which made the circumstances even more distressing.

She said, “Now imagine that I was five months pregnant and my friend was also three months pregnant for my husband. I said I could not stand a polygamous home because it is not in the Bible.”

Ajibola noted that although her husband initially did not want to accept responsibility for the pregnancy involving her friend, tensions escalated between the families. She explained that her father-in-law, who is a pastor, and her mother-in-law, who she said is also a prophetess and church leader, were caught in the middle of the crisis.

The actress alleged that her friend’s family began mounting pressure on her husband and his family, insisting that he must take responsibility and marry their daughter. She said the situation created serious conflict, with threats allegedly directed at members of the church led by her in-laws.

“There was crisis because my father-in-law is a pastor and my mother-in-law is a prophetess. The girl’s family used to threaten the church members with thugs. They insisted that the girl must marry my husband, but I said I could not run a polygamous family,” she explained.

Ajibola said the emotional pain and pressure eventually became overwhelming, leaving her feeling isolated and unable to cope with the situation. She admitted that at her lowest point, she made a desperate decision in response to the turmoil she was experiencing.

“It got to a point I poisoned myself so I could end the whole drama while pregnant,” she revealed.

However, she said her father-in-law intervened in time and gave her an antidote, saving her life and preventing the situation from becoming even more tragic. She credited the intervention as a turning point that ultimately allowed her to survive the ordeal.

Following the incident, Ajibola said she made the difficult decision to leave the marriage in order to protect herself and her well-being. She added that her former best friend eventually went on to marry her husband, bringing a definitive end to her own relationship with him.

The actress said sharing her story was not about seeking sympathy but about encouraging others who may be facing similar emotional struggles. She emphasized the importance of resilience, self-worth, and finding the strength to move forward despite painful experiences……See More
