Israel’s Minister Drops Statement, Claims That Ceasefire With Iran Was A Huge Mistake

Israeli Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli, who belongs to the ruling Likud party, stated that entering into a ceasefire with Iran at this stage amounted to a mistake.

According to a report by The Times of Israel on April 9, 2026, he argued that nations like the Japanese Empire or Nazi Germany must be brought to their knees before any agreement is reached.

Chikli expressed serious doubts about the durability of the current pause in fighting and assigned only a fifty percent chance that the ceasefire would hold.
