Chinagorom Onuoha, a Nigerian musician popularly known as African China, has stated that he had a traumatic experience during the period when he was hawking bread in Lagos
In an interview with Yanga FM Nigeria, African China said that while he was on his way to buy bread, he jumped over the pavement that separates Sari and Iganmu at Orile Bus Stop, and unknowingly stepped on a swollen corpse lying there
African China said he immediately ran across the road in shock. He stated that people around quickly poured water and soap on his leg to clean it. He added the incident left him deeply traumatized and later inspired him to write one of his hit songs.
In African China’s words: “That pavement which divides Sari and Iganmu at Orile bus stop, I did not know that there was a corpse there and it had swollen.
