Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sadness over the death of Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, the mother of the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
Atiku conveyed his condolences in a statement shared on his X handle, describing the late Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour’s passing as a painful loss.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, beloved mother of the ADC Governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour,” he wrote.
The former vice president extended his sympathies to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, members of the Rhodes-Vivour family and all those grieving her death.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to Gbadebo, the Rhodes-Vivour family, and all who mourn her passing,” he said.
Atiku acknowledged the emotional weight of losing a loved one, noting that words alone could not fully comfort those left behind.
“At moments like this, no words can truly ease the pain of losing a loved one,” he stated.
He also offered prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for divine comfort for the bereaved family.
“I pray that the Almighty God grants her eternal mercy, forgives her shortcomings, and comforts the family with the strength and patience to bear this profound loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” Atiku added.
