Obi Could Not Answer Correctly How He Would Provide Electricity. He Only Said, ‘Trust Me’ -Felix Morka

Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed suggestions that opposition figures pose a serious challenge to President Bola Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.

Speaking in an interview with Sunday Sun in Abuja, Morka addressed several political issues, including the prospects of opposition candidates, the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, public perception of the ruling party and the popularity of Labour Party’s Peter Obi on social media.

Responding to a question on whether Peter Obi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or any other opposition figure posed a threat to President Tinubu, Morka said none of them currently represented a credible challenge to the President.

He argued that the opposition figures had yet to explain to Nigerians why they wanted to become president, adding that merely criticising President Tinubu was not enough to convince voters that they were a better alternative.

According to him, anyone seeking the presidency must first present a clear vision for the country and outline concrete programmes and policies they intend to implement.

Morka further stated that because President Tinubu is seeking another term, opposition candidates have a responsibility not only to present their own agenda but also to explain how it differs from the programmes and policies of the incumbent administration.

He maintained that they must convince Nigerians by demonstrating how they would improve the economy, electricity supply, security and other critical sectors better than the current government. He added that until they present what he described as superior alternative ideas, Nigerians would have no reason to take their presidential ambitions seriously.

Further talking, he said, “I know that Nigerians do not take Peter Obi seriously. He only has a bunch of noisemakers online who tell him what he wants to hear, but Nigerians in the inclusive sense can’t possibly take Obi seriously when he cannot even answer correctly how he is going to provide electricity. He only said, ‘Trust me’.

“The response ‘trust me’ is not a political programme, political identity, superior political offering, and does not distinguish him from the President.”

Morka argued that it would be difficult for Nigerians to abandon a president whom he said had demonstrated capacity, delivered results and exceeded expectations in several areas in favour of Peter Obi, whom he claimed was asking Nigerians to rely on promises without proven achievements…..See More
