Peter Obi: If He Had Gone By What I Said Tinubu Would Not Be At The Villa Today -Datti Baba-Ahmed

Former vice-presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed has explained why he agreed to run as deputy to Peter Obi in the 2023 election and shared his thoughts on what went wrong.

In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, speaking after joining the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Baba-Ahmed said he initially believed power should shift to Southern Nigeria in 2023. He revealed that he had earlier planned to contest a different political position in Kaduna State but later changed his decision.

According to him, he was outside the country when Obi reached out and asked him to become his running mate. At the time, he said many politicians were avoiding Obi because they saw him as politically risky. However, Baba-Ahmed said he felt a moral responsibility to support him, stressing the importance of unity and fairness in Nigeria.

He also noted that during the campaign, he worked to correct several issues within the movement, including misunderstandings that could have created division between Northern and Southern supporters.

Baba-Ahmed claimed that if his advice had been fully followed, the outcome of the election might have been different and Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not have emerged as president.

Despite this, he said he is not desperate to become president but remains willing to serve if given the opportunity to help fix Nigeria.

In his words, “If he had gone by what I said Tinubu would not be at the villa today.”……..See More
