Obi Was Avoided By Others As Being Toxic, I Stood By Him And Corrected The “Yes Daddy” Things -Ahmed

Datti Baba-Ahmed has stated that he was outside the country when Peter Obi asked him to be his running mate in the 2023 presidential election

In a video shared by Symfoni TV, Datti said many people saw Obi as a toxic politician and refused to associate with him. He said he agreed to be Obi’s running mate because he felt morally obliged to support him

Ahmed said during the campaign, he worked had to correct several controversies and misconceptions about Obi. He stated that he addressed the issue about claims that northerners were asked to carry ID cards in Anambra when Obi was governor. He said he also corrected the claims about northerners being pushed out of the state during Obi’s tenure. He stated that he was involved in handling the “Yes Daddy” controversy as well.

Ahmed said he played a key role in managing these issues during the campaign period. He stated that if Obi had followed his advice fully, he believes Bola Tinubu would not be in office today as president

In Ahmed’s words: “I was out of this country when Peter Obi asked me to join. He was avoided serially by others as being toxic. Because I know God said ‘Live together in Nigeria, do justice to each other’ I felt morally obliged not to avoid him as he was avoided by others. I stood with him, the ID Card to be worn I corrected it. The pushing the northerners out, I corrected it. The Yes Daddy thing I corrected it.
