In a recent interview shared by News Central TV, spokesperson to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Abubakar Yesufu, has shed light on the decision by Kwankwaso and Peter Obi to leave the ADC and align with the NDC.
Yesufu clarified that the move was not driven by personal conflicts but by strategic political considerations ahead of future elections. Addressing speculations that the decision was aimed at avoiding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Yesufu stated, “Some people would say they were trying to avoid Atiku; maybe we just discovered that we may not be able to go the distance with him.”
He maintained that Atiku remains a respected political figure, but emphasized that political partnerships must be built on shared direction and sustainability. According to him, differences in long-term objectives made continued alignment difficult.
Yesufu further noted that the collaboration between Kwankwaso and Obi is rooted in common priorities such as governance reform, economic growth, and national stability. He added that their new political path is focused on building a stronger opposition capable of offering Nigerians a credible alternative.
He concluded that the decision reflects evolving democratic realities, where alliances shift in response to changing political dynamics…….See More
