In a recent YouTube video, prominent Nigerian cleric Enoch Adeboye revisited his early years as both an academic and a newly converted Christian, offering a reflective account of the intellectual and spiritual challenges he encountered during that period. Adeboye, who began his career as a university lecturer and trained mathematician, explained that his analytical mindset often led him to question complex theological concepts. Among his most pressing concerns was the apparent tension between divine omniscience and human free will. He specifically struggled to understand why God would permit events that He already knew would occur, referencing the biblical narrative of Adam and Eve as a key example.
