According to a report from The Sun on Sunday, May 24, Senator Ireti Kingibe has shared harrowing details of a violent encounter after political thugs attacked her and officials of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja. The incident occurred at the party’s secretariat in the Gudu area on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
According to a report by The Sun, a man identified as Tijani Mubarak arrived at the venue with several individuals who proceeded to launch an assault on the ADC members present.
The lawmaker described how the situation quickly turned violent, culminating in a direct physical attack against her by one of the invaders.
“One of Mubarak’s men turned on me… grabbed me, and flung me violently against the wall, hitting my head with severe force,” Senator Kingibe stated.
Following the assault, Senator Kingibe was rushed to the hospital after developing alarming physical symptoms, including severe headaches and blurred vision.
