“Tinubu Never Promised Me A Ticket, And I Did Not Also Give Him Any Condition To Rejoin” -Adediran

The 2023 Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has addressed concerns over his past criticism of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his recent political realignment.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Jandor was questioned about earlier remarks he made while in the PDP, where he reportedly described the APC as a failure.

During the exchange, the programme’s anchor challenged him directly:

“What would the APC be campaigning on? You exposed the APC when you were in the PDP; you said the party was a failure. Were you lying then?”

In response, Jandor explained that political positions are not fixed and can evolve over time. He noted that his current stance reflects present realities and his engagement within the APC.

“The President [Tinubu] never promised me a ticket, and I did not also give him any condition to rejoin the party”, Abdul-Azeez Adediran added

He maintained that his decision to align with the ruling party was based on strategic considerations and a belief in its future direction. Jandor also emphasized the importance of party structure and internal cohesion, suggesting that working within the system offers a better opportunity to influence outcomes.

His comments come amid scrutiny from critics who have questioned the consistency of his political views following his defection. However, he insisted that his decisions are guided by changing dynamics in the political landscape rather than contradiction.

The remarks highlight ongoing debates within Nigeria’s political space, especially as politicians shift alliances ahead of future elections and face questions over their past statements…..See More
