Kwankwaso Walks In Front Of Peter Obi, We Have Pictures And Videos But I Will Never Do That- Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, a prominent figure in the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), has commented on the relationship and public interactions between former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, stating that Kwankwaso often walks ahead of Obi during public appearances.

The remark was contained in a video shared on the official X account of Vanguard on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. The video has since generated discussions among political observers and supporters of both leaders, particularly as conversations continue around opposition politics and possible political alliances ahead of future elections.

Speaking in the video, Baba-Ahmed reflected on his experience as Obi’s running mate during the 2023 presidential election. He explained that throughout their campaign activities and public engagements, he consciously maintained a position either beside Obi or behind him, which he considered a sign of respect and recognition of Obi’s position as the presidential candidate.

According to Baba-Ahmed, leadership roles within political partnerships often come with certain expectations regarding conduct and public presentation. He suggested that he personally chose not to place himself ahead of Obi during official outings because he believed it was important to acknowledge the hierarchy of the ticket on which they contested.

Despite his observation about Kwankwaso’s conduct, Baba-Ahmed emphasized that he holds both political leaders in high regard. He noted that he has tremendous respect for Obi and Kwankwaso and did not intend his comments as a personal attack on either individual.

The PRP chieftain maintained that his statement was simply an expression of his personal approach to political partnership and respect among political colleagues. His comments have nevertheless attracted attention because both Obi and Kwankwaso remain influential figures within Nigeria’s opposition political landscape.

Speaking in the video, Baba-Ahmed said:

“Kwankwaso walks in front of Peter Obi. You don’t do that. We have pictures and videos but I will never do that.”

The statement has added to ongoing public discussions about political leadership, alliances, and perceptions of respect among key opposition figures as the country gradually moves toward the next electoral cycle…..See More
