According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, veteran journalist and ADC chieftain Dele Momodu spoke about the political journey and personal struggles of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during a discussion on the ongoing ADC presidential primaries ahead of the 2027 elections.
Momodu described Atiku as a resilient politician who has remained relevant in Nigerian politics for decades despite several political challenges and electoral defeats. While reacting to controversies surrounding the ADC primaries and complaints raised by some aspirants, Momodu appealed for calm within the party and urged members to protect the unity of the ADC.
Speaking during the interview, Momodu said Atiku’s life story reflects perseverance and determination. He stated, “He lost his father when he was 11 years old and started a business to take care of his mother.”
