According to a report by Vanguard on Thursday, May 21, 2026, former Governor Olusegun Osoba stated that attempts were made to kill him when he was fighting for the restoration of democracy as a NADECO member
Osoba said Sergeant Rogers confessed and gave evidence in court that he (Osoba) was one of the people selected to be assassinated by the military regime during that period.
Osoba said an attempt was made to kill him near his house, but he escaped it. He stated that another attempt on his life happened while he was driving towards Abeokuta but he managed to escape again.
