An assistant superintendent of police named Mary Onoja has spoken up about the accusations of infidelity levelled against her by her late husband and his father. In order to establish her innocence, she was allegedly asked to swear before graves.
After agreeing to the demand, Onoja was led to her cemetery, according to an interview she gave to the human rights program Brekete Family. She claimed to have made a solemn vow that the souls of the departed should punish her for her adultery if it had been genuine. Nothing occurred to Onoja after she took the oath, she said.
