When I Was Born, I Had Health Issues Called “Growth Hormone” Today I Will Be Fine, Tomorrow I Won’t -Buba

Former House of Representatives aspirant for Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Muhammad Sadisu Buba, has opened up about a health condition he said affected his education and physical growth, amid criticism on social media over his age, height and academic background.

Buba spoke during an interview on S24 Television on May 17, 2026, while responding to comments questioning whether his educational qualifications were sufficient for political office.

According to the former aspirant, he has lived with a health issue related to growth hormones since birth, which affected both his physical development and ability to maintain stable learning conditions while growing up. He explained that the condition caused fluctuations in his health, making it difficult for him to study consistently.

“When I was born, I had one health issue called ‘growth hormone’. It has been affecting me that today I will be fine, tomorrow I will not be fine so how can I learn,” he said during the interview.

Buba noted that despite the challenges, he refused to allow his condition to define his ambitions or prevent him from seeking opportunities to serve his people. He maintained that leadership should not be judged solely by academic qualifications or physical appearance, but also by character, determination and the willingness to improve society.

The former aspirant also reacted to the social media backlash surrounding his stature and educational background, saying many critics fail to understand the personal struggles some individuals face while growing up.
