Yoruba Nollywood actress Victoria Akunke, popularly known as Omo Local, has shared a deeply emotional story about her past marriage during an interview on OyimomoTV. In the conversation, she opened up about a painful betrayal that almost cost her life.
According to her, she had a very close friend she trusted deeply. When she became pregnant in her marriage, she happily shared the news with this friend. Unknown to her at the time, the same friend was secretly involved with her husband.
She explained that while she was five months pregnant, she discovered that her best friend was already three months pregnant for her husband. At first, her husband denied responsibility. However, when the friend’s parents reportedly confronted him, he later accepted the pregnancy and agreed to marry her.
The actress said the situation broke her heart. She never wanted a polygamous marriage, especially not with someone she considered a sister. Overwhelmed by the betrayal and emotional pain, she took poison in an attempt to escape the situation. Fortunately, a young boy nearby quickly called for help, and she was rushed to the hospital where doctors saved her life.
Victoria eventually left the marriage. She revealed that her former husband and the friend later had more children together. Despite everything, she says she has healed and even visited her former friend after she gave birth.
