Kafayat Adeyemi, wife of popular Nigerian Fuji musician Shanko Rasheed, has opened up about the emotional abuse she endured during her third pregnancy at the hands of women she claims were her husband’s girlfriends.
Speaking in an interview on the Talk to B podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, Adeyemi revealed how she became a target of disturbing phone calls from unknown women.
She explained that during her pregnancy, she would receive calls from individuals who allegedly obtained her number from her husband’s phone.
Instead of courtesy, the callers would unleash torrents of curses upon her, leaving her in a state of constant fear.
According to Adeyemi, the harassment was not a one-time occurrence but a repeated ordeal that took a significant toll on her mental well-being.
She described the palpable fear that gripped her each time her phone rang, a fear so evident that it did not go unnoticed by those around her.
Her neighbours at her shop, where she works, became aware of her distress.
They observed the change in her demeanor whenever she received such calls and advised her to defend herself by returning the curses, warning her not to let the verbal attacks break her spirit.
Her words: “When I had my third pregnancy, a lot of things happened. My husband, Rasheed, is this type of person that I don’t know how his girlfriends usually get my number from his phone. After getting my number, they would call me and rain curses on me. I would tell my husband because whenever I received these kinds of calls, I would become scared. The fear was so obvious that even my neighbours at the shop were aware. They would tell me that whenever I got such calls, I should also curse the person back and not allow them to kill me.”……See More
