Kafayat Adeyemi, wife of Fuji musician Shanko Rasheed, has opened up about the emotional turmoil her husband has been facing behind closed doors, revealing that the once-celebrated artist recently expressed a desire to take his own life due to his current financial and career struggles.
Speaking in an interview on the Talk to B podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, Adeyemi shared details of the difficult period her family has been navigating.
She disclosed that her husband, who was once at the pinnacle of fame and fortune in the Fuji music scene, has been battling depression over his dwindling relevance and resources.
According to her, the celebrated musician told her that he wanted to kill himself because he felt tired of living, having fallen from the heights of wealth and stardom he once enjoyed.
Adeyemi explained that the situation placed her in a position of immense emotional responsibility, as she had to constantly reassure and encourage her husband not to give up on life.
Her words: “I used to encourage my husband not to worry because he told me that he wanted to kill himself. He said he was tired of living because he was once rich and famous, but now he is no longer wealthy or that well-known.
