Yoruba Nollywood actress Yusuf Kafilat Omoshalewa, widely known as Basira Beree, has shared a deeply personal story about the early struggles she faced on her path to success—revealing how her decision to pursue acting led to a serious fallout within her family.
In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, the actress recounted how her father’s unexpected discovery of her on-screen appearance triggered tension at home. According to her, the situation began when her father came across a movie featuring her. Doubtful of what he had seen, he forwarded the clip to her elder brother to confirm if it was truly his daughter.
Once it was confirmed, Basira said she received an urgent message asking her to return home. At the time, she had already started building her own life and had even welcomed her first child, making the sudden summons both surprising and unsettling.
Concerned and confused, she reached out to her brother to understand what had gone wrong. It was then she learned that her father was upset about her involvement in Nollywood and wanted answers.
