Alhaji Abdul Kabir Bukola Alayande, popularly known as Ere Asalatu, a renowned Nigerian Islamic singer, shared how he once ventured into promoting herbal medicine across different regions of the country.
In an interview on BEHIND THE FAME, Asalatu explained that he began advertising herbal remedies for ailments such as gonorrhoea, hypertension, and diabetes. He stated that his campaigns were broadcast on NTA Channel 7 in Lagos and later extended to Ibadan, Abeokuta, Akure, and Ilorin. Bukola said he moved to the Eastern region, covering Benin, Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Owerri, Aba, Uyo, Calabar, and Bayelsa. He also travelled to the North, including Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria, and Maiduguri.
Asalatu noted that during that period, kidnappers were not a threat. He said those who attempted to rob them found nothing but herbal drugs, as they carried no money.
His words,
“I began to advertise herbal drugs for gonorrhoea, hypertension, and diabetes. I did this on NTA Channel 7 in Lagos and across Ibadan, Abeokuta, Akure, and Ilorin. I later moved to the Eastern region, covering Benin, Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Owerri, Aba, Uyo, Calabar, and Bayelsa. We also travelled to the North, including Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria, and Maiduguri. At that time, there were no kidnappers. Anyone who wanted to rob us would not find money, only drugs.”…….See More
