When I Heard The SC Judgement, In My Heart I Screamed, Justice Oputa, Are You Talking To Me?-Okonkwo

Kenneth Okonkwo has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is no longer facing any legal challenge after the recent judgement by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Speaking during an interview shared by SYMFONI TV, Okonkwo, who is also a lawyer, said he personally witnessed the court proceedings and was impressed by the reasoning of the judges. According to him, the judgement reminded him of respected former Nigerian jurists such as Chukwudifu Oputa and Kayode Eso.

He explained that while listening to the judgement, he felt as though the wisdom and brilliance associated with the late judges were being reflected in the arguments and decisions delivered by the justices.

Okonkwo added that the Supreme Court made it clear that the ADC had no issue before the court, questioning why the party was involved in an appeal when the earlier ruling of the trial court had already favoured it.

He further stated that the apex court directed that the matter should return to the trial court, insisting that the judgement confirmed that the ADC currently has no legal problems hanging over the party.

The former Labour Party presidential campaign spokesman also praised both the majority and dissenting opinions delivered by the judges, describing the legal reasoning as solid and difficult to fault.

In his words, “When I was hearing them giving judgement, at a certain point in my heart I screamed, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa are you talking to me? Kayode Eso, am I hearing your voice?”……See More
