A young Lagos business owner, Ifeoluwa Olorunmaye, has raised serious concerns about her safety after an alleged attack linked to her former boyfriend.
According to a video shared by Punch, she said the relationship ended months ago, but she began receiving threatening messages from unknown phone numbers shortly after. The messages reportedly included threats to her life, which made her increasingly worried.
According to her, she reported the situation and shared evidence with a private investigator, who helped trace some of the phone numbers. During the investigation, a suspect was identified and questioned. To her surprise, the person linked to the threats was her ex-boyfriend, someone she said she was still in contact with at the time.
She explained that while the threats were ongoing, he continued to speak with her normally and even advised her to pray and take the situation seriously, without revealing his involvement.
The situation became more alarming when one of her staff members was attacked. The staff member had gone to meet a supposed client but was instead assaulted with a substance later confirmed to be acid.
Olorunmaye said the suspect later admitted to asking someone to harm her out of anger over the breakup, though he claimed he did not intend for the attack to be so severe.
Despite his arrest, she said he has since been released, and she remains afraid for her safety.
