Veteran Nigerian comic actor, Victor Osuagwu, has paid tribute to late actor and filmmaker Columbus Irisoanga, describing him as one of the major influences behind his success in acting and dance.
Speaking during an interview with YANGA FM, on Thursday May 14 2026, Osuagwu recalled growing up in Port Harcourt, where he admired Irisoanga’s performances and creative style from a young age.
According to him, his admiration later turned into a personal relationship after they met at the University of Port Harcourt. He revealed that Irisoanga went on to mentor him directly, teaching him both acting and dancing skills that later became part of his unique style in Nollywood.
Osuagwu noted that many people often praise his energetic dance moves and stage presence without knowing that the late Columbus Irisoanga was the person who trained and inspired him in those areas.
In Osuagwu’s words, “I actually grew up in Port Harcourt. I watched people like the late Columbus Irisoanga. I later met him at the University of Port Harcourt. In fact, he was the one who taught me dance and acting. So, when some people see me dancing, Columbus was the man who taught me.”…….See More
