Nigerian entrepreneur and reality television star Dabota Lawson has opened up about the circumstances that led to her past marriage, revealing that she was not fully prepared for marriage at the time she accepted the proposal.
She made this known during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on the talk show With Chude, where she spoke about her personal life, career, and past relationships.
During the conversation, she explained that her relationship with her former husband developed very quickly. According to her, he proposed to her just two weeks after they first met, but she was not ready to get married.
She said: “I was not ready to get married, but I married him because he worshipped the ground I walk on, he adored me and treated me like a princess,” emphasizing that the way he treated he played a major role in her decision to accept the proposal and it made her believe the relationship was genuine and worth committing to.
After the proposal, the couple had a short engagement that lasted about three months before they eventually got married.
Looking back at the situation, she admitted that she was only in her twenties at the time and did not fully understand the responsibilities that come with marriage. She also noted that they did not spend enough time dating and learning about each other before making such an important decision.
