Veteran Nollywood actress and producer, Funmilayo Omikunle, has shared her perspective on infidelity in relationships, stating that both men and women naturally grow out of cheating as they age.
The actress made the remarks during a recent interview on the “Talk to B” show hosted by Abiola Adebayo, where she discussed relationship dynamics, personal growth, and the role of maturity in shaping human behavior.
Speaking candidly, Omikunle suggested that infidelity is often tied to youth, energy, and certain life phases, adding that as individuals grow older, their priorities tend to shift. According to her, the desire and even the ability to engage in such behavior diminishes over time.
“A man who cheats will eventually stop when he reaches a certain age. A wife will eventually stop when she reaches a certain age,” she said, emphasizing that the pattern is not limited to one gender.
She further explained that instead of constant conflict over a partner’s infidelity, couples should recognize that time and maturity can bring change. In her view, aging plays a significant role in reshaping attitudes toward relationships, often reducing the appeal of extramarital affairs.
Omikunle also used herself as an example to illustrate her point, humorously questioning who would still be interested in flirting at an advanced stage of life. “Who would want to flirt with someone like me?” she asked, reinforcing her belief that such behaviors are temporary.
The actress advised that patience and understanding may sometimes be more effective than prolonged disputes, noting that life circumstances will eventually influence people to settle down and abandon habits like cheating.
