Wike: You Can’t Deny Fubara His Constitutional Responsibility, & Come Back & Ask Him For Peace -Oscar

Youth leader Saviour Oscar has questioned the recent reconciliation efforts involving Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and members of the Rainbow Coalition following their visit to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s private residence in Port Harcourt.

Oscar expressed his views during an interview with Arise TV, where he discussed the political developments in Rivers State and the broader challenges confronting Nigerians.

The youth leader argued that political negotiations should not become a distraction from the pressing economic and social difficulties facing citizens across the country. According to him, many Nigerians are currently dealing with serious hardships and expect political leaders to concentrate more on improving living conditions than on settling political disagreements.

Oscar also raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the reconciliation between Wike, his political associates and Governor Fubara.

He suggested that the process should be examined in the context of the disagreements that previously affected the governor’s ability to exercise his constitutional responsibilities.

According to Oscar, it was inconsistent for political actors to allegedly frustrate or restrict a governor from performing duties attached to his office and subsequently return to him seeking reconciliation in the name of peace.

He maintained that any genuine attempt to resolve the political differences should respect the constitutional authority of the governor and ensure that the interests of Rivers State residents remain at the centre of the process.

Oscar further stressed that political reconciliation should go beyond meetings between influential politicians. In his view, such efforts should ultimately create an environment that allows elected officials to govern effectively and address the needs of the people.

He said, “You cannot deny a man his constitutional responsibility, and then you still come back to him and ask for peace.”
