Former Lagos State Governor and former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), reflected on his years in public service, describing the opportunity to serve Nigeria as one of the greatest privileges of his life.
Speaking during an interview on TVC, Fashola looked back on his long career in government and said he remains grateful for the opportunity he was given to serve at different levels of leadership.
According to him, public service was never something he took for granted. He said every responsibility he held came with a deep sense of duty and appreciation for the confidence placed in him.
Fashola said that after leaving office, he has had the chance to reflect on the journey and believes it was a unique experience that very few people are fortunate to have.
He noted that serving in government during his younger years allowed him to dedicate his energy to the responsibilities that came with leadership, adding that those years remain memorable to him.
During the interview, Fashola said, “Looking back at my years in public service, I consider it the privilege of a lifetime.” He explained that surviving those years and being able to reflect on them today is another privilege in itself.
The former governor also stated that looking back gives him a better appreciation of the opportunities he had, describing his experience as one that shaped an important part of his life.
